Coming Up for Air

After a brief break from two years of non-stop touring, Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam is back with a new album produced by Peter Frampton and mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Coming Up For Air, a smorgasbord of rockers and acoustic ballads, includes Davy s and Peter s dueling guitar solos on George Harrison s anthem, Hear Me Lord, and an extraordinary bonus track duet with Jonatha Brooke of her Taste of Danger. The album is built around nine Davy originals (two co-written with Peter Frampton). Highlights include rockers Tear Down The Walls and Riverbed and the soulful Can t Take This Back. After a three week solo stint opening for Jeff Beck in April, Davy and the band are hitting the road again in support of this album.

2009-06-30 -- 5/5:: OUTSTANDING
Davy Knowles "Coming up for Air" is an outstanding CD that just gets better each time I listen to it. I have played selections for friends who have agreed and picked up a copy for themselves. Knowles is an incredible young musician (he's 22) whose singing, writing and especially guitar playing are beyond his years. With Peter Frampton producing, this CD brings out all of his very special talents. This young man is going places!! Look forward to seeing him live.

2009-06-26 -- 3/5:: The title concerns me....
Haven't heard it yet but the title concerns me a bit. The band on Roll Away was just called Bsck Door Slam. Now it's Davy Knowles AND Back Door Slam. Sounds like success is going to someones head hmmmmm???

2009-06-21 -- 3/5:: Nothing spectacular
It'k ok. Doesn't pack the punch the first one did. I couldn't wait for a second cd but when this arrived I was a little disapointed. Just average.

2009-06-18 -- 5/5:: Davy did it again!
It's not as bluesy as the previous one (Roll Away), it is more appealing to the broader rock audience. Easily one of the best albums this year so far. Brilliant - highly recommended - a must for every serious CD collection.
