DSP chips can do miracles even in mono recordings with Callas' voice. The heroine in Act I of La Wally, vows to escape an arranged marriage and contemplates the dangers of the long journey away from home. Dangers, Hellenic expatriates, the world over, are very familiar with. Only an incredibly gifted instrument and a tremendous technician could accomplish such feat, but most important of all is the great musicality that she has. I didn't include the high F in the first act quartet from Armida simply because the recording quality is debatable. However, in the clip from Lakme one can hear Mariah approaching the high E from above, so she actually hits a high F for a fraction of a second before centering on the high E. |

La registrazione che propongo, invece, è tratta dal concerto del 27 dicembre 1954 al teatro del Casinò di San Remo (Italy), Direttore Alfredo Simonetto. Questa registrazione è stata da me rimasterizzata a 24Bit 96Khz, ma per renderla compatibile per Internet, appositamente adattata, ascoltata sul CD da me rimasterizzato, su buon impianto stereo, la resa è molto superiore.
