~ La Campanella 3
Views: 2367 | | | | | Here's my third recording of "La Campanella" by Franz Liszt. When I made this recording, I was also practicing other pieces like Gnomenreigen, Waldesrauschen, Revolutionary Etude, and Fantaisie Impromptu, so I was unable to completely focus on "La Campane ...More lla" only, which might have contributed to this somewhat "unstable" performance, but I believe there have been many improvements compared to my previous recordings, so please enjoy :) |

This masterp ...More iece will take you to places you've never dreamed of, Franz Liszt wrote some of the most technically demanding and spiritual music imaginable that speaks directly to the human soul. The mark of a true genius with an unbelievably sophisticated musical language. Sadly this magnificent Romantic composer is not appreciated nearly enough by the mainstream as he deserves. ~ Gnomenreigen - Dance of the Gnomes by Franz Liszt - (Enzo @ Concert at the Park- 2nd try)
Views: 3051 | | | | | Played May 1, 2009 at the Rizal Park, Manila (Concert at the Park). This is Enzo's 2nd try for this challenging piece by Liszt. He was able to clip about 10 seconds from his 1st try thus making this one a little bit more sprightly. Thanks for watching and ...More rating. ======================================== ======================================== "During his stay in Rome in 1862-1863, Liszt composed his "Deux etudes des Concert" (two concert studies). The two extraordinarily difficult studies were entitled Waldesrauschen ("Forest Murmurs") and Gnomenreigen ("Dance of the Gnomes") respectively. The latter, which has been regarded of some of the lightness of the Mendelssohn scherzos, has also a Lisztian devilishness well-suited to its subject. Marked Presto scherzando, the music dances gracefully along its 6/8 meter at first, but soon it too grows to a brilliant climax. The opening dance resumes, and suddenly-like a puff of smoke-it vanishes". |
