Together Through Life
Standard: 1CD of 10 new tracks in a jewel box with a four-panel insert.
Together Though Life, produced by Jack Frost, was prompted by the composition of a new song, "Life Is Hard," which was written for a forthcoming film by French director Oliver Dahan (La Vie En Rose). Bob Dylan's latest studio album was recorded late last year and features 10 new songs including "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'" and "It's All Good." This will be the 46th release from Dylan, following his Platinum album Modern Times which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in 2006.
2009-06-30 -- 3/5:: Bob Dylan, "Together Through Life" CD
Shipping was extraordinarily quick, CD sounds fine, but in trying to copy for a friend the last two tracks sound like a radio not properly tuned in....static....?
2009-06-27 -- 5/5:: Another great Bob album
Dylan delivers another great album. There is only one slow song I think he could have left off, otherwise it is perfect.
2009-06-25 -- 4/5:: Bob: Still Creative After All These Years
This is not equal to some of Bob's greatest efforts, but definitely worth buying and listening to. Over time, I expect the songs to reveal more of their genius as other artists interpret them. The man just keeps going and giving.
2009-06-22 -- 4/5:: everything old...
Everything old is new again-not that I'm complaining!Bob Dylan now reminds me a lot of early Ry Cooder,and that can't be bad.
2009-06-18 -- 1/5:: Y'Know, he really can't sing
Boy, I thought he was a lousy singer forty years ago...Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Maria Callas & Edith Piaf all lost their voices during their careers, but that didn't change that they learned how to use the vocal chops they still had, and carve out great vocal performances, often giving better performances than during their golden-throat days. Gents such as Dylan, Rod Stewart & Johnny Cash have no such talents, I'm afraid. This new Dylan is painful. Not that I've ever been a Dylan fan, but at least I concede his importance as a major American songwriter (at least during his early heyday). These songs are downright ugly. I'm sure Dylan fans will disect why I'm wrong, but probably most wont be really big fans of the above mentioned artists either.
